Domain name renewal

Summary

This article explains how to renew an existing domain name.

Procedure

Domain names will need to be renewed every year or 2 years (or longer) depending on the previous registration or
renewal period.

Names that end .uk are registered through Nominet UK and the registration and renewal period for .uk domains is exactly
2 years.

Other domain name types (i.e. .com, .net., .org, .info, etc.) can be registered and renewed for a minimum of one year
and for multiple years. The normal period is 2 years.

If you order a domain name when you order your web hosting service, we will register your domain name for you.

Domain name renewals are not processed by Web Hosting Plus, but via our domain
name service at renew.domainsplus.co.uk.

You will be contacted regarding your domain renewal by domainsplus.co.uk automatically 90, 60, 30 and 5 days prior to
its expiry date. The renewal emails are sent to the domain's Admin Contact, so it's important that you keep your domain
contact details up-to-date at support.domainsplus.co.uk

You may renew your domain name at any time directly from the above website, assuming that your domain isn't being
managed by a different Domain Provider.

If your domain name was registered through another provider and the domain registration is still with them, then
they will contact you regarding domain renewal, and the renewal will be processed through them.
